Hotel & Hospitality Photographer — Byron Bay & Northern Rivers
Diego Giannicola is a hotel and hospitality photographer based in Byron Bay, specialising in luxury boutique accommodation, resorts, and design-led hospitality venues across the Northern Rivers and NSW.
Byron Bay has become one of Australia's most sought-after destinations for high-end boutique hospitality. The venues that succeed here share something in common: every detail is intentional, from the architecture to the interior design to the quality of light in each room. Translating that level of care into photography requires the same attention — to atmosphere, to materiality, to the way a space feels at different times of day.
Diego's hospitality photography has been commissioned by some of the Northern Rivers' most recognised venues, capturing the full character of each property — from architectural exteriors and interior design detail to room imagery and the unique atmosphere that defines a guest's experience.
This work supports marketing campaigns, website imagery, social media content, and editorial publications. It is produced to the standard that luxury hospitality clients expect: precise, atmosphere-driven, and built to last.

What types of hospitality venues do you photograph?
I specialise in design-led boutique hotels, luxury resorts, and high-end accommodation. My work in Byron Bay includes some of the region's most recognised hospitality venues — properties where interior design, architecture, and atmosphere are central to the guest experience.
How do you approach hotel photography differently from residential work?
Hospitality photography needs to communicate the feeling of being a guest — the quality of the light in the morning, the texture of the linens, the view from the terrace. I plan each shoot around the natural light conditions at the property and work methodically through each space to capture both the overview and the detail.
Can you handle both photography and video for a hospitality property?
Yes. I offer combined photography and video packages specifically designed for hospitality clients — covering hero imagery for websites, room-by-room photography, and cinematic video reels suited to Instagram and digital campaigns.
